All About Wine Tasting

At our Boutique Wine Tasting with Etiquette event yesterday we had the opportunity to taste the wines from Valle de Tintos. A Boutique Winery located in Ensenada, Mexico. Founded in 2013 by a young couple Nicole and Alvaro. They started with a production of 7 barrels and now they produce 4,500 cases a year.
We started the wine tasting with their 100% Chenin Blanc that is kept 4 months in American oak. It has delicious aromas of pineapple, green pear and a little hint of vanilla, well rounded. We tasted it with this appetizer, blackened shrimp and avocado cucumber bite, it was delicious! Our second tasting was a blend of Tempranillo and Carignan that spent 18 months in French oak barrels. Some aromas we enjoyed were blackberries, plum, with hints of vanilla and spices. We enjoyed this one with a delicious appetizer, goat cheese stuffed sweet peppers. And last but not least we tasted their blend Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot which spent 14 months in French oak with rich aromas of red cherry. For this one my friend Sarah Lopez from Freshly Prepped prepared beef meatballs in raspberry marinade, oh my God, what a delicacy !
